Final countodown!

We are quickly approaching the end of the semester and this new website project has me worried, mostly in part that I don't have dreamweaver on my computer so most of my work must be done in class. This is really starting to cut it short

Guidebook difficulties

The printing of this guidebook proved a lot more problematic than anticipated. First place I went to printed it wrong and in an attempt to salvage it I spent some time cutting it and trying to glue it all back together to no avail. I finally gave in and re-printed it today. Hopefully the assembly goes a lot smoother this time.

Guide difficulties

So I'm finding it a lot harder to start this guide book than I thought. I have so many ideas sketched out but I just don't know which one to go with and where to start. I start one and then a different idea comes to mind and I start over but then I'm not too happy again and I start over. I might just have to sit down and get it done and not second guess myself.

Green Lantern

so I'm running up against the problem of designing this instruction booklet and I want to make it look like it belongs in this GL world but at the same time not have it just be a re-hash of what I've seen before. This is going to be harder than I thought.

Finished Project

I'm pretty happy with the finished product. I was going for a Disney type of look but with a more adult theme I suppose. The pen tool is becoming increasingly easier to work with the more I use it

Beginning

So this is the sketch I worked off for the Hybrid Object project

marko djurdjevic

So after having played with the new mesh tool on Illustrator I've come to fully respect and be in awe of the work some of these artist do. The fact that they can make these works that look like paintings still amazes me. One of these artist who I've followed is Marko Djurdjevic who comes from a background of painting to taking those tools and using them to paint digitally.

Clayton Crain

Clayton Crain (clean version) cover of X-Force
So I'm not sure if people have caught on that I'm kind of a comic book geek which is why I seem to post a bunch of comic book artist. The good thing is that many of these artist are using computer programs to better their illustrations. Such as Clayton Crain who will sometimes fully illustrate and paint on the computer never really drawing out anything in pencil. Figured I would share some of his amazing computer art.

Adi Granov tutorial

So we recently learned about looking for the different tutorials online to get ideas on how to work on our own projects. Well I'm a fan of illustration and came across this tutorial by Adi Granov who is mostly known for his comic book work. He did a lot of the art for the Iron Man movies, the costume designs and what not. Anyways....have a look. I'm amazed at what he can do.

James Jean

So I'm sure plenty of people know who he is now since he has become pretty popular in that last few years, but I wanted to post up a blog about him anyways. Since I am more interested in the illustration side of art James Jean is definitely someone I look up to and admire. He uses a mixture of media one of them being photoshop to enhance his illustrations.

Random computer art

Visited The Lab in Costa Mesa today and saw a few works of digital art up on the walls so I decided since this is a computer art class that I would share the ones I liked best. I think what really drew my attention the most was the use of the colors, bright and colorful but not too busy.
